Help Shape Hounslow’s Climate Change Resilience Plan

Overview

One of the key priority areas of Hounslow’s Climate Emergency Action Plan 2026-2030, is to ‘make the borough resilient to the impacts of climate change’. To deliver on this, Hounslow is developing a Climate Change Resilience Plan.

In January 2026, engagement workshops were held with council staff, statutory resilience partners and local residents. Insights, experiences and feedback from these workshops were used to create a draft Climate Change Resilience Plan. We're now inviting you to share your views on the draft plan by completing a short survey:

Background

Climate change is already affecting our borough. Hotter summers, heavier rainfall, and more extreme weather events are expected. To prepare, we’ve reviewed our existing plans and identified gaps. Now we’re developing a resilience plan that embeds climate adaptation across the council and the borough.

This plan will:

  • Assess how flooding, heatwaves, storms, and other climate risks affect our borough.

  • Set out how we adapt our homes, streets, services, and communities to the impacts of global warming.

  • Build practical resilience and preparedness measures to protect residents, especially those most vulnerable.

Why are we asking?

Many of the impacts of climate change cannot be prevented or directly reduced, so individual and community understanding and preparedness will be an important part of resilience for the Borough. This is why we want your perspectives on how we can support and develop that effectively.

Who do we want to hear from?

We want to hear from all residents. Your perspective matters.
