We want to make public spaces across the borough inclusive, environmentally-friendly and welcoming. We are gathering feedback on how we can transform our spaces to make sure they encourage a sense of belonging, offer equitable access, promote active lifestyles, physical and mental health, social interaction, cultural integration and support a vibrant economy.
Public spaces include:
Streets, alleyways, squares and shop parades
Pavements and pedestrian areas
Waterfronts and canal routes
Village greens
Open spaces e.g. car parks and small green strips/areas (not parks or playgrounds)
Entries of train and tube stations, civic and leisure centres, libraries, schools and faith buildings
Any other spaces open to the public where people gather or move through
How to submit your responses
Please complete our survey and drop your feedback on our map by following the links below to ensure you have your say in making these spaces reflect your needs and aspirations.
We'll use your feedback, ideas and insights to develop design guidance which will be used as a framework to develop our public spaces in the future.
Please note, when we refer to 'public spaces' they do not include:
Parks and large green open spaces
Communal areas of public housing estates
Communal areas of private housing/apartment complexes
Rubbish disposal and collection
These aren't included as there is already existing guidance available to develop these spaces. Please visit the FAQs on the right side of this page to find out more.
