Every three years Hounslow's Health and Wellbeing Board asks residents and stakeholders if the borough's assessment for provision of pharmacies meets local needs. Many thanks to those who have already taken part in the survey earlier this year which helped shape a draft Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA). You are now asked to review the resultant draft PNA and share your views.
Overview
The aim of the PNA is to enable local pharmacy service providers and commissioners to:
understand the pharmaceutical needs of the population
gain a clearer picture of the pharmaceutical services currently provided
make appropriate decisions on applications for NHS pharmacy contracts
commission appropriate and accessible services from community pharmacies
clearly identify and address any local gaps in pharmaceutical services
target services to reduce health inequalities within local health communities
You are asked to look at the draft PNA and comment on whether it reflects Hounslow's pharmaceutical needs. You can read the draft PNA via by clicking this link.
How to respond
Please read the draft PNA then click on the 'share your views here' button below. We welcome your feedback and ask that you provide your comments on the assessment by 5pm 27 April 2025.
If you would like to request an accessible version of this consultation such as large print, Easy Read or Braille, or you would like a paper copy sent to you please email ann.phillips@hounslow.gov.uk or call 020 8583 2000.

The HWB has commissioned Soar Beyond, a specialist organisation which leads on development of PNAs, to develop and assess the consultation. All submissions will be shared with Soar Beyond solely for the purpose of analysing the PNA.
Next steps
The HWB will consider and sign off the PNA in mid-July 2025 and it will be published by 1 October 2025. A link to the final PNA will be published on this webpage.
