    December 2024 Update

The Council wished to find out residents’ opinions and ideas to help shape the correct priorities and do what is necessary to improve the park experience for all. A survey went out earlier in the year and was distributed online, through mailing lists, via letter drops, text message services, pop up stalls, via council services and through the police.

Various other forms of engagement also took place through in person conversations, pop up stalls at Hounslow library, area forums and Lampton Children centre.

The results of this survey will feed into the Make your Mark – Lampton Park project, and will support us in understanding the current use, limitations, aspirations and suggestions for the park.

A total of 224 users responded to the survey before it closed in September, many responses came from TW3 in which Lampton Park is situated, whilst a handful of responses came from other parts of the borough and out of the borough. 97% stated they visit Lampton Park and the main reason for visiting any park was use of outdoor space (walking, running). Other reasons to visit parks were in relation to area, health and wellbeing, aesthetics, safety, facilities, and activities.

Almost all individuals had visited Lampton Park, of whom many had visited the park daily or weekly. 96% of individuals walk to Lampton Park, 11% cycle and 4% travel by car although no parking provision on site. The most used entrance of Lampton Park was on Lampton Road, with the least used entrance on Harris Close/Willow Gardens. The top three themes mentioned when asked to describe Lampton Park were Space, Nature, and Facilities. The top three areas and facilities used in the park were the paths, children’s play, and tennis courts.

Improvements for the space centred around a variety of themes including but not limited to: nature, sport provision, community spaces and better entrance/exits.

The most key factors of the park were park cleanliness and safety.

This feedback will contribute to a collection of engagements that have taken place throughout the year such as through in person pop up stalls in Hounslow House, the library, Area Forums, as well as emails sent to the parks inbox. Other engagements include discussions held at Lampton Children Centre and Osterley Park and ongoing community garden conversations. Of which will help to develop a plan to improve the current access, entrance/exit, wayfinding and provide community and seating provision within Lampton Park.
