Michael2071 asked about 1 month agoDear Resident,
Thank you for your enquiry regarding Jersey Parade, and my apologies for the delay in getting back to you.
I can confirm that the Council’s Safer Communities Coordinator for Heston is looking into this issue and is coordinating with the relevant departments and officers.
A site visit has been carried out, and information was gathered and shared with the Council’s Licensing Team, who will be making further enquiries.
In addition, the officer raised concerns with the Metropolitan Police regarding street drinking and begging near the traffic lights, along with some general safety concerns. One individual has been referred to the Council’s Homelessness Team, who will be conducting outreach visits to the location.
The Council’s Enforcement Team has also attended the site and will continue to monitor it. They are checking waste to ensure that no business rubbish is being improperly dumped on the street.
There are indications of late-night eating and drinking in the area, with some rubbish being discarded afterwards. Officers will be working closely with local businesses and residents to encourage positive change.
A special thank you to The Open Kitchen, who have already stepped up and shown fantastic community spirit by helping out straight away - a great example to others in the area.
If you have any further questions or would like more information, please contact Tara Doyle at Tara.Doyle@hounslow.gov.uk.

Michael2071 asked about 1 month agoDear Resident,
Thank you for your question, and please accept my apologies for the delay in getting back to you.
Please find below a response from the Council’s Planning Department:
“Regarding the Metropolitan Open Land (MOL) to the rear of Wheatlands, this area is officially designated both as MOL and as a Site of Importance for Nature Conservation (SINC). These designations afford it a high level of protection, and I am not aware of any proposals to de-designate or redevelop the site.
Should any development proposal come forward for this land, it would need to demonstrate ‘Very Special Circumstances’ to justify redevelopment. While I cannot categorically rule out future development, this is one of the highest policy tests in planning to overcome.
I appreciate your reference to the Brentford Football Club Training Ground, where ‘Very Special Circumstances’ were accepted. However, in my view, that was an exceptional case, and I am not aware of any plans to further expand those facilities.”
I hope this information is helpful. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any further questions.

Heston18 asked 5 months agoDear Resident,
Thank you for submitting your question regarding parking on Church Road in Heston.
To explore the possibility of introducing permit-only parking on Church Road, residents will need to submit a petition. This petition is essential to gather support from the community and formally request the change. You can start the petition process by following the link below:
- Submit a petition: https://democraticservices.hounslow.gov.uk/mgEPetitionListDisplay.aspx?bcr=1
- Set up an account: If you don’t already have one, you’ll need to create an account to submit and manage your petition. You can set up an account here: https://democraticservices.hounslow.gov.uk/ielogon.aspx?lp=1&RPID=35739488&HPID=35739488&Forms=1
Once the petition is submitted, it will be reviewed by the appropriate departments for consideration. We encourage you to share this information with your neighbours to ensure broad support.
If you need any further assistance or clarification, please contact Thomas.Ribbits@hounslow.gov.uk, who oversees the administration of petitions at the Council.

mpgibbons asked 6 months agoDear Resident,
Thank you for your question, and I apologise for the delay in getting back to you.
Please find below the response provided by the Council’s Refugee and Asylum Seeker and Housing Migration teams:
An individual who has received a decision on their asylum claim may receive a positive decision granting them Refugee or Humanitarian Protection Status. This status entitles the individuals to rights and entitlements to live, work and study in the UK for up to 5 years. It does not confer, however, Indefinite Leave to Remain until after 5 years have been completed. (Right To Remain: Home Office Asylum Decision)
Local Authorities in the UK have no influence or any jurisdiction on how and when newly-recognised refugees are vacated from hotels. Newly-recognised refugees who are given a positive decision are signposted by the Home Office to Local Authorities in their area to address their housing needs.
Anyone who is worried about becoming homeless in the next 56 days can contact the Housing Options Teams. The below link, available to all residents contains useful information and advice (to note that this is a new website and subject to ongoing changes/updates) https://beta.hounslow.gov.uk/homelessness/homeless-worried-becoming-homeless
If you are worried about an individual facing homelessness and who needs support and advice, please access the link above.
