Overview

Feltham is getting its own mini forest in the heart of Feltham Arenas - Blenheim Park.

Planted in the Miyawaki method, a way of planting many trees close together to create pocket forests. The council's Parks team are collaborating with our partners Energy Garden to transform London’s overlooked spaces into thriving hubs of natural discovery.

This Miyawaki Forest will be one of the largest in London and part of a new trend towards dense tree planting! The forest help green the area by increasing the amount of biodiversity, combat climate change by storing carbon, and provide a shaded 'cool zone'. Trees also help clean the air providing fresh air for nearby people.

All trees planted will be small trees (we call them whips!) so sightlines across the park will be unaffected until they grow to full size. We'll also be installing bird and bat boxes as well as bug hotels and a community orchard.

Help us get started.

We want you to get involved and plant Feltham Forest with us. All abilities and ages welcome, no sign-up or experience necessary and tools will be provided.

Come along, be prepared to get a bit grubby, and meet likeminded people from your local community!

  1. Community Tree Planting Day 1, Blenheim Park, Feltham on Sunday, 6 April, 1pm-5pm. Planting the first two of seven Miyawaki forests totalling roughly 1000 little trees.

  2. Community Tree Planting Day 2, Blenheim Park, Feltham, date to be announced (September/October 2025). Planting four Forests totalling roughly 4200 little trees.

  3. Community Orchard Planting Day, Blenheim Park, Feltham, date to be announced (2025). This orchard will be planted within the forest.

Following the planting days, Energy Garden will be running biodiversity and gardening education workshops on the site for the foreseeable future.

This project was funded in its entirety by Pioneer Point Partners.

We look forward to seeing you there.
