The Design Review Panel is undergoing its routine biennial review to collect feedback on the quality and effectiveness of its services from panel members, applicants and case officers. This survey aims to assess the impact the Design Review Panel has made on the built environment to identify opportunities to improve the structure and efficiency of its reviews. The data collected will be used to create a report evaluating the panel's performance from 2023 to 2025 to support the further development of the panel. This report will be shared with panel members and council officers during our Biennial Review meeting to evaluate the success of the pat two years.

Background
The Design Review Panel was set up in 2019 by Hounslow's planning and development management team. The aim of the panel was to provide objective expert advice on large scale applications to support the delivery of high-quality developments throughout the borough. The panel comprises of several industry professionals within the planning and built environment sector and acts as an independent advisory board helping to align development with Hounslow's Local Plan and Hounslow's Corporate Plan.
Since the panel's conception in 2019, the panel has reviewed over 50+ schemes across the borough and is continuing to push for the highest quality of design and sustainable development.
Why are we asking?
Over the past six years, the panel has undergone two internal reviews to evaluate its impact and value to the community. As a part of our third review, we want to reach out to the various parties who have helped shaped the panel to measure the effectiveness of its work and identify opportunities to improve its services. Your feedback plays a key role in shaping the panel's services and Hounslow's built environment. To ensure the panel continues to promote high quality design and sustainable development, your responses will be used to improve the panel’s delivery to ensure its work remain impactful and beneficial for all members of Hounslow's community.

The meeting will provide an opportunity to review the panel’s progress and evaluate the success of the past two years. The findings will be used to inform recommendations for improvements to our services. The outcomes of the report will be published to panel members
