Hounslow’s Children and Young People’s Plan is a council-wide, strategic plan that will guide how our different services include children and young people. The plan is grounded in the belief that children and young people flourish best within supportive environments that prioritise their wellbeing alongside that of their families. With a focus on creating a borough where young residents can thrive, our plan encompasses various aspects ranging from health and education to safety and community engagement.

We want to hear from you…

The plan is a rolling plan. It will be reviewed and updated annually based on feedback gathered throughout the year to ensure it evolves with changing service demands.

You can read the plan and provide your thoughts and feedback on this page forum. We will also be hosting themed events throughout the year to gather more feedback. See below for more details.

Engagement opportunities

Throughout the year, we'll be hosting engagements and initiatives tailored for children and young people which reflect the different outcome areas of the Plan. So, keep an eye on this space for updates and opportunities to get involved!

We will be running engagements on the following things:

  • greener Hounslow: promoting sustainability, clean air, and green spaces for the wellbeing of our young residents.

  • healthier Hounslow: ensuring access to mental health support, healthy living, and educational resources.

  • cleaner Hounslow: maintaining cleanliness, combatting littering, and promoting recycling for a safer and more pleasant environment.

  • thriving Hounslow: fostering opportunities for education, employment, and community engagement.

  • safer Hounslow: prioritising safety in public spaces and homes, with measures to prevent crime and support vulnerable individuals.

  • liveable Hounslow: improving housing quality and affordability, enhancing leisure options, and building a sense of belonging within communities.

We believe in the power of collaboration and listening to the voices of our young residents.

Through ongoing consultation and engagement, we aim to ensure that the plan reflects their needs, aspirations, and feedback. We look forward to you joining us as we work together to create a vibrant, safe, and inclusive environment where every child and young person in Hounslow can thrive and reach their full potential.

Paper copies of all consultations and surveys are available. To request one, please email consult@hounslow.gov.uk or call 020 8583 2000.
