Hounslow Council wants your views on proposed changes to the event-day parking controls in the Brook Road South Controlled Parking Zone. The survey is open until midnight on 16 October 2026, and we would like to hear from residents living within the zone.

Overview

The Brook Road South Controlled Parking Zone currently operates Monday to Friday from 10am to 12 noon and from 6pm to 8pm. It also operates on Saturday event days from 2.30pm to 3.30pm.

The existing one-hour Saturday event-day restriction does not cover weekday evening, Sunday or bank-holiday events at the Gtech Community Stadium. The Council has also continued to receive correspondence from residents about parking pressures on event days.

This is a non-statutory resident survey. Its purpose is to understand whether residents support progressing the proposal to statutory consultation. No decision has been made to change the current controls.

What are we proposing?

We are asking whether the existing Saturday event-day restriction should be replaced with the following event-day controls:

  • Weekday event days: 5pm to 10pm
  • Weekend and bank-holiday event days: 12 noon to 8pm

The existing Monday-to-Friday controls from 10am to 12 noon and from 6pm to 8pm would remain unchanged.

The additional hours would apply only on designated event days. The existing CPZ boundary would not change.

All existing valid resident, visitor and business permits would remain valid, and no additional permit would be required. Pay-to-park and shared-use bays would remain available at the existing charges. Existing Blue Badge concessions would also continue.

If approved following the necessary consultations, signs would show when the event-day controls are in force and the restrictions would be enforced as part of the existing CPZ.

You can view the resident survey letter and supporting documents in the Important Documents section of this page.

Why are we proposing this?

The proposal is intended to ensure that event-day controls reflect the wider range of events now taking place at the Gtech Community Stadium, including weekday evening, weekend and bank-holiday events.

Longer and more consistent event-day controls may:

  • Reduce long-stay parking by people attending stadium events
  • Improve parking availability for residents and other valid permit holders
  • Reduce the risk of indiscriminate or obstructive parking
  • Help maintain access for pedestrians, carers, businesses, deliveries and service vehicles
