Brentford Station CPZ review
Consultation on Parking Controls in the Brentford Station (BSTN) Area
We are conducting an informal consultation to gather feedback from residents regarding parking controls in the Brentford Station (BSTN) Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) and surrounding areas. This consultation aims to address ongoing parking challenges and assess support for potential changes to the CPZ.
Why We’re Consulting
In recent years, the council has received numerous requests from residents regarding parking pressures caused by football supporter parking on event days, increased demand from nearby residential developments, and general parking issues in the area. Although previous consultations did not show significant support for changes, these ongoing concerns have prompted this review to seek updated feedback from residents and businesses.
What’s Being Proposed
- For Currently Uncontrolled Streets:
Residents in streets outside the existing BSTN CPZ are being consulted on a proposal to extend CPZ controls into their area. The extended zone could potentially operate under the same hours as the nearby BSTN CPZ (Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM) to help manage parking demand more effectively. - For Streets Already in the BSTN CPZ:
Residents within the current BSTN CPZ, which operates Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, are being asked for their views on whether the operational hours should be extended. The streets included in this section are Glenhurst Road, Orchard Road, Sidney Gardens, The Dell, Windmill Road (between Boston Road and Great West Road), and York Road.
Additional Feedback
For those already in the CPZ, we are also seeking feedback on the current layout of parking controls, including the type and location of parking bays and yellow lines, as well as any other suggestions or concerns about the scheme.
Your input is vital in shaping the future of parking management in your area. Please take a few moments to complete the relevant questionnaire for your location by selecting the appropriate option below.
Consultation process:
As you are aware, the CPZ operates between Monday – Friday, 9.30am – 5.30pm and incorporates Glenhurst Road, Orchard Road, Sidney Gardens, The Dell, Windmill Road (Between Boston Rd & Great West Rd) and York Road. A variety of options have been incorporated as part of the online survey, including the option for longer hours on the current operational times, and the option for Saturday and Sunday parking controls. The survey primarily focuses on the effectiveness of the CPZ and whether the operational times and days are suitable.
Residents of sections of Brockshot Close, Layton Road and Brook Lane North are also being consulted to determine whether there is support for CPZ parking controls to be extended into their currently uncontrolled sections.
For clarity, residents of the existing CPZ are being asked whether you would support extended hours of controls in the CPZ and, if so, the possible operational times of that scheme. Residents of the currently uncontrolled sections are being asked whether you support the introduction of a CPZ and, if so, for your views on what CPZ it should be the possible operational times of it.
How to respond:
Before completing the online survey, please refer to both the scheme layout plan and the information included with the letter sent to residents of how CPZ’s work and the costs involved, both are available to view via the “Documents” section on the right-side.
Once you are satisfied that you have sufficient information, please complete the short survey by clicking on the "Take Survey" button below:
Please complete the online survey by no later than 10 January 2025.
