On Tuesday 24th February 2026 Hounslow Council and Brentford Voice jointly hosted an evening event to update residents on regeneration projects in Brentford.
The three main topics of discussion were:
The Golden Mile Vision and Investment Framework;
Brentford Town Centre;
The former Brentford Police Station and Albany Riverside sites.
Alongside presentations from officers, information boards were on display around the room - you can find these under the 'Information Boards' tab on the righthand side of the screen.
You can also view an updated set of Frequently Asked Questions under the FAQs tab on the righthand side of the screen.
How can residents be more engaged in shaping what happens in Brentford?
Specific engagement opportunities will continue to arise as projects develop, including through the planning process. Some engagement activities run by Hounslow Council will be open to everyone and hosted on the Let’s Talk platform, whilst others will be targeted when there are certain parts of the community we need to reach e.g. young people. We will always aim to time these engagement opportunities appropriately so they can be of most value in shaping real work. We also have to schedule them alongside other things happening across the borough so that we are using the engagement team’s capacity fairly and impactfully.
We don’t only want to rely on those time-limited engagement ‘moments’, however – our colleagues in the Community Development Team are working with local organisations around the borough to grow local Community Development Networks. These are about bringing together groups and even just individuals who are playing an active role in their area to address priorities and challenges together – so it’s designed to be ‘strengths based’. The Brentford network meets monthly and anyone can attend this if they have ideas and actions they want to contribute. Contact community.development@hounslow.gov.uk to find out more.
