Consultation has concluded
This consultation closed on 18 April 2024
Thank you to all residents and businesses who took part in the detailed design consultation for the Victoria Avenue area.
The consultation, which ran from 18 March to 18 April 2024, sought views on proposals to introduce a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) and amend operational times in the area.
A total of 498 consultation letters were issued, with a 3% response rate recorded. Following a review of the feedback received, it was noted that there was no clear majority either in favour of or against the proposals. Responses were mixed on key aspects such as inclusion of specific roads, preferred operational days and hours, and satisfaction with the proposed layout. Due to the low level of engagement and lack of strong support, the Council has decided not to proceed with any changes at this time. As a result, proposals to amend the existing CPZ or expand it to include additional streets have been withdrawn.
All comments and suggestions provided during the consultation have been carefully considered. The Council will continue to monitor parking conditions in the area and may revisit the proposals in the future if parking pressures increase.
We would like to thank everyone who took the time to respond and share their views.
