This consultation closed on 11 December 2023, an update will be available shortly which will summarise the findings and next steps.
What is the project?
Thames Water would like to extract water from the River Thames at Teddington during periods of drought. To make this happen they would like to build an underground pipeline between Mogden and Teddingdon so that they are able to replace extracted water with treated water from Mogden Sewage Treatment Works.
Hounslow Council would like to respond to the Thames Water consultation on behalf of people living and working in Isleworth, who may be impacted by the construction work if the proposals are approved.
In order to construct the abstraction pipe, shafts would need to be built across the route which will result in construction equipment, materials and traffic for up to six months at each shaft site. One of the proposed sites for construction of one of the shafts is at Ivybridge Retail Park.
