Overview

Following consultation with residents and businesses in the Strand on the Green (SotG) controlled parking zone (CPZ) last year, and additional concerns raised regarding the outcome, Hounslow Council is now seeking your views regarding possible changes to the operational times of the CPZ.

The current scheme

The SotG CPZ operates between Monday-Friday, 10am-12 Noon and 6-8pm and Saturday-Sunday, 2-4pm and incorporates Geraldine Road, Hearne Road, Meade Close, Oliver Close, Pyrmont Road, Spring Grove, Strand on the Green, Thames Road (in part) and Waldeck Road.

The initial purpose of these times was to protect local parking provisions in light of the construction of Brentford FC’s stadium and the associated residential aspect of the development.

The proposal

In response to the concerns raised upon completion of the consultation last year, the council are now submitting further CPZ operational times for your consideration. The purpose of this is to hopefully identify a wider consensus amongst residents and businesses as to what the operational times should be.

A variety of different times have been submitted for consideration, as detailed below, in response to feedback gathered from local residents and businesses who represent both those in favour and against changes to the CPZ.

The times put forward for consideration are:

  • Monday-Friday, 10am-Noon & 6-8pm, + Saturday-Sunday, 2-4pm (the current CPZ times)

  • Monday-Friday, 10am-Noon, + Event days Monday-Friday, 6-8pm, + Event days Saturday, Sunday & public holidays, 2-4pm & 6-8pm

  • Monday - Friday: 10am-Noon & 8pm-10pm, + Saturday: 10am-Noon

  • Monday - Friday: 10am-Noon & 8pm-10pm, + Saturday & Sunday: 10am-Noon

  • Monday - Friday: 10am-Noon & 8pm-10pm, + Weekend event days, 2pm-8pm

  • Monday - Friday: 10am-Noon & 8pm-10pm, + Saturday: 10am-Noon, + Weekend event days, 2pm-8pm

  • Monday - Friday: 10am-Noon & 8pm-10pm, + Saturday & Sunday: 10am-Noon, + Weekend event days, 2pm-8pm

In addition to the above, the council are seeking your views on the possible removal of the ‘maximum stay’ period for pay to park users in the shared-use bays.

Please refer to the consultation letter, which is available on the right hand side of this page, for further information on the changes being consulted on.

Drop-in session – come and meet the team to discuss any queries you have about the scheme. We will be at the junction of Thames Road and Brooks Lane between Noon and 2pm on Friday 30 January 2026.
