Proposed zebra crossing Ealing Road, Brentford, near to the Netley Road junction.
Overview
We are consulting on proposals to improve the pedestrian road crossing provision along Ealing Road, Brentford, and are proposing to introduce a new zebra crossing on Ealing Road near the junction with Netley Road.
Why are we proposing this?
Ealing Road, Brentford has a speed limit of 20mph, however residents have raised concerns about traffic speeds on the road, and data shows there have been some personal injury accidents on the road over the past 6 year period.
To further improve road safety, we are proposing to introduce a zebra crossing at the kerb extension at 91 Ealing Road (near to the Netley Road junction).
What is the proposed scheme?
For full details of the location and proposed changes, please see the plan found to the right of this page under 'Documents' .
The proposal is to implement a zebra crossing at the kerb extension at 91 Ealing Road, near to the Netley Road junction.
This will act as a speed reducing feature, by slowing down traffic on the approach to the crossing point (thereby reduce the risk of accidents). This will enhance road safety for pedestrians, making crossing the road much easier for wheelchair users, those with mobility difficulties, as well as push chair users and the elderly.
