Proposed raised zebra crossing - Wood Lane, Isleworth, TW7 5EQ
Overview
We are consulting on proposals to improve the existing zebra crossing at 126 Wood Lane, Isleworth, TW7 by raising the crossing to footway level.
Why are we proposing this?
We are committed to improving road safety and accessibility for all residents. As part of the package of traffic improvements for Osterley, we have developed a design to upgrade the existing zebra crossing on Wood Lane (between Braybourne Drive and Great Road West, (A4)) to a raised crossing over a speed table.
This improvement will not only provide added safety benefits for pedestrians but also help reduce vehicle speeds when the crossing is not in use, acting as a permanent speed reduction feature.
Wood Lane currently has a 20-mph speed limit, and this traffic calming measure will help ensure better compliance. The change will also create a level surface, making it easier and safer for pedestrians, wheelchair users, pushchair users, and other vulnerable road users to cross.
What is the proposed scheme?
The proposal is to implement a raised zebra crossing.
Full details of the location, and proposed changes, can be viewed in the plan found to the right of this page under 'Documents' along with a copy of the consultation letter.
