Parks FAQs
Why do we keep sections of long grass in some sites?
Long grassland is created to promote biodiversity in the borough as they become a safe home to many species such as Hedgehogs,Bees and Butterflies
if there is a site that you believe has not been taken care of and has run a little too unruly, please get in touch with the team at parks@hounslow.gov.uk or issue a service request via the main Council webpage Parks, Allotments, Cemeteries and Open Spaces (hounslow.gov.uk)
The Council have launched a Natural Summer campaign back in May 2024 in conjunction with the No Mow May campaign, this means grass cutting has been paused for longer than just May in certain sites but only in some areas until October 2024 to further promote biodiversity.
Please check the participating locations to see if your site is listed before raising a request.
What is the grass cutting cycle for Hounslow Parks?
Please see the Summer schedule for Grass cutting provided by Lampton Greenspace here.
Note: Due to Natural Summer campaign some sites have areas that are being uncut to promote biodiversity to see the list of participating sites click here.
