No Time to Waste
Have your say – Shape the next No Time To Waste Campaign
We’re asking residents to complete a short survey to help us understand local waste and recycling habits, so we can focus our efforts where they’ll have the most impact.
Our goal is to improve waste reduction and recycling in the borough. To ensure our education and engagement campaigns are effective, we need to know where knowledge gaps and behaviour challenges exist. This survey will provide essential insights into how residents manage their waste, what they know about recycling, and where they need more support or information. The results will help us tailor our programs and resources to be more targeted, relevant, and impactful.
This survey is open from 6 May 2025 until 30 May 2025.
Background
Do you remember the No Time To Waste campaign we launched in March 2023 to help Hounslow residents recycle more and waste less?
A recent analysis of household waste showed that 40% of food waste is still ending up in general rubbish bins—meaning residents are, quite literally, throwing money away. Cutting down on food waste isn’t just better for the environment—it also helps save money.
That’s why we’re bringing the campaign back, with fresh energy and a renewed focus.
Why are we asking?
We want to make the biggest impact where it’s needed most—and we need your help to do it.
Take a moment to complete our quick survey—no registration, no hassle. Just a few clicks to help shape better waste and recycling support in the borough.
What options were available to us?
When planning the next phase of the No Time To Waste campaign, we considered several options to determine the best way to understand and address local waste and recycling behaviours:
Do nothing
Repeat the campaign without surveying residents
Run a targeted engagement campaign based on assumptions
Conduct a public survey to guide the campaign (chosen option)
This chosen approach is grounded in listening and responding to our residents. This gives us the best chance of making waste reduction and recycling more successful across Hounslow.
Who do we want to hear from?
We want to hear from all Hounslow residents—whether you're an avid recycler, just getting started, or unsure of what goes where. Every voice matters, and your feedback will help us understand the real habits, challenges, and knowledge gaps around waste and recycling in our borough.
Your input will directly shape the next phase of the No Time To Waste campaign. By telling us what works, what doesn’t, and where more support is needed, you’ll help us reduce waste, improve recycling, and create a cleaner, greener Hounslow. Plus, by cutting food waste, you'll not only help the environment but also save money.
How can you get involved?
It’s quick and easy to get involved. Complete our survey—no registration required. It only takes a few minutes, and your feedback will make a real difference.
