*UPCOMING EVENT

Come along to Ludlow Road Open Space and celebrate the opening of the new pathway delivered in partnership with the Friends of Ludlow Nature Reserve, Habitats and Heritage, Maydencroft, and Lampton Greenspace.

When: Saturday 29 November

Time: 10am to 1pm

What: Open Day with nature arts and crafts, plant a tree, learn about the history of Ludlow Road Open Space, opportunity to join the Friends group and light refreshments will be provided.

September 2025 Update*

  • All works complete, awaiting snagging meeting.
  • Green skills bootcamp delivering extra social value offer in vegetation clearance.

August 2025 Update*

  • Street furniture installed.

July 2025 Update*

  • Boardwalk is complete
  • Gravel pathway almost complete
  • Street furniture locations confirmed, due to be installed.

May 2025 Update*

  • Tree planting almost complete, final tree planting to be done winter 2025 with the friends.
  • Breedon gravel is being laid out on sub-base along the pathway
  • Boardwalk complete
  • Swales complete
  • Project completion still aiming for Summer 25

March 2025 Update*

  • Tree planting has begun, with a community planting day held Tuesday 25 February where 15 trees were planted by residents, friends of Ludlow Road Open Space, Councillors, Countryside team and the Parks team. Facilitated by Maydencroft.
  • The subbase for the perimeter pathway has been completed and progress has been made on the boardwalk.
  • The project is expected to be complete by Summer 2025.

November 2024 Update*

Due to the wet weather conditions the completion works have been pushed to end of January.

August 2024 Update*

Ludlow Road Open Space Perimeter Pathway is progressing as per schedule. Maydencroft have been on site for almost a month and have been busy laying the foundations for the beginning of the path network. They have been clearing through some vegetation to join up the path networks near Sycamore Close and will be conducting some minor vegetation clearances through the woodland to allow for the beginning of the boardwalk to commence.
