Background
The Longford River through Feltham is mostly inaccessible to the public but sections of it have been opened-up and improved around Feltham Park and Feltham Station. We know from previous community engagement that opening-up the river creating a connection to the Town Centre is something that many people support.
Developments along the river length on the McDonald's site, Danesbury Collective and Leisure West could give us opportunities to do that, creating new walking and cycling routes that connect Feltham Park and Hanworth Air Park.

Proposals
A new 'green corridor' that opens up views of the river and access to nature: much of the river is currently hidden to many people moving around Feltham. The intention is to create new walking and cycling routes alongside the river which link up Feltham Park and Hanworth Air Park; and to create a new crossing over the river.
Supporting a thriving town centre: new development along the route of the River could create opportunities to enhance the retail, leisure, food and beverage offer in an attractive setting, and could also help to connect the High Street and surrounding areas.
Better connections to places of education and employment: opening up the route along the river could also make it easier - and more pleasant - to make journeys to schools and workplaces on foot or by bike. For instance, the bridge over the river could be improved to facilitate movement between Cardinal Road Infant and Nursery School and Victoria Junior School.
The plan below shows how the area alongside the Longford River could be improved - use the key at the side to help make sense of it.
There is a full-sized version of this plan in the Document Library on the right-hand side of the screen - click on it to open it.
You can tell us what you think about this by completing the Feltham Masterplan Survey. We would suggest you read more of the material about the masterplan first by looking through the other project tiles on the Future Feltham hub.
