Hounslow Council wants your views on a proposal to extend the School Street zone around Isleworth Town Primary School as part of ongoing efforts to tackle problems associated with traffic around schools at drop-off and pick up times. This consultation is open for your views until midnight 5 December 2025. We would like to hear from residents, parents and the local community.

Overview

In recent years, the Council has stepped up its efforts to tackle problems associated with traffic around schools at drop-off and pick-up times through the introduction of School Streets, to address issues such as road safety concerns, poor air quality and inconvenience to residents. School Streets prohibit access to a road by motor vehicles during particular times of the day, around school start and finish times.

What are we proposing?

There is already an existing School Streets restrictions around Isleworth Town Primary School

These roads already have a School Street restriction
Ferney Meade WayMandeville Road
Part of Linkfield RoadTeck Close
Smallberry AvenueTown Field Way
Thackery CloseWhite Lodge Close

The proposal is that these roads are also included in the School Street restrictions
Kendall Road
The remainder of Linkfield Road
Mill Plat Avenue

Lismore Close is not within the proposed School Street extension but it can only be accessed by roads which will be covered by the restrictions if they are agreed.

As with the existing School Street restrictions, these additional streets will be restricted to vehicles on Monday to Friday from 8:15 to 9:15am and 2:45 to 3:45pm during school term time. Exemptions will apply to residents within the zone and their visitors, blue badge holders, and easily recognizable delivery vehicles (e.g., supermarket lorries).

The school street restrictions will be enforced by the Council through the use of CCTV, which could be either mobile or fixed cameras.

A copy of the proposals and a copy of the consultation letter (including a plan of the proposals) can be accessed using the links on this page. You can also view our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) on School Streets.

Why are we proposing this?

The proposals form part of the Council’s commitment to promoting active travel (encourage children to walk, cycle and scoot to school), reduce pollution and improve safety outside the school.
