This consultation closed on 8 January 2024, an update will be available shortly which will summarise the findings and next steps.

Overview

Following a petition received from residents requesting an extension to the operational hours and days of the Hounslow West CPZ, the council has decided to undertake a review of the zone.

The petition focuses on parking problems encountered on Bath Road, however, the survey has been extended to cover the whole of the CPZ area so we can understand if the operational aspects (days and times) continue to work well for residents and businesses. The petition has also been considered by local ward Councillors who have also agreed that a survey be carried out with residents.

The Hounslow West CPZ has grown incrementally since it was first introduced in 1998, and the intention of the review is to understand the views of residents and businesses within the zone on its current effectiveness, or otherwise, and to assess whether changes are required and supported.

The online survey can be found at the bottom of this page.

Operational times and days of the CPZ

The CPZ currently operates Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 5.30pm & Saturday, 9.30am to 12.30pm. A variety of options have been incorporated as part of the online survey, including the option for longer hours on the current operational times, and the option for Sunday parking controls. The survey primarily focuses on the effectiveness of the CPZ and whether the operational times and days are suitable.

Does the CPZ effectively manage parking?

Listed below are some suggested issues for consideration that may help when completing the survey.

  • Do you feel the CPZ is having the desired effect of removing all day non-residential parking and prioritises parking for residents, businesses, local amenities, and visitors?
  • Do you consider the parking controls to have had a negative effect on parking in your road?
  • Do you have any suggestions on how the CPZ can be improved?
  • We encourage you to highlight any other issues not covered in the survey by providing them in the comments section of the online survey. These will be considered once the survey has closed.
