Testing out the vision
What is a masterplan?
A masterplan is not a fixed blueprint and in many cases the council will not have the power to take forward all the opportunities it identifies by itself. What a masterplan does is make a case for what can be achieved, where and why, and in so doing invites landowners and developers to work alongside the council and the community in bringing those opportunities to fruition.
What is the vision?
The refreshed masterplan is built around a vision for Feltham which, over the years, local people have helped us to shape. That vision has four themes, set out below. For each theme there is a brief description of what we want the future to be like, along with a map indicating how we think different sites in Feltham could help us fulfil this element of the vision.
Look at the information for each of the four themes and tell us what you think by answering the questions at the bottom of the page.

Our vision is for...
A green, well-connected place
Feltham is connected to the world via Heathrow and to Central London in 30 minutes by train. Within Feltham, estates and neighbourhoods that were once poorly connected to the town centre and local green spaces are now well-served by safe, active travel and pedestrian routes. Better access to green space and more appealing walking and cycling routes around the area promote good health, physical activity and mental wellbeing. They have also improved access to local education and employment opportunities.
A thriving town centre day and night
The offer on Feltham High Street has been strengthened by public realm improvements, sympathetic new development and management strategies that make the High Street a pleasant place to spend time. Measures to support the evening economy create a thriving town centre that is safe and welcoming day and night. Alongside shops and other businesses, community infrastructure throughout the town centre ensures those who are most in need of support services can access them safely and easily.
A productive place to work and learn
Schools, colleges and employers are well connected, helping more residents to develop the skills they need to reach their potential. Feltham is home to a variety of workspace, supporting people to be productive and creative in a range of industries. Better access to skills and jobs, along with more opportunities to grow businesses locally, supports residents' health and wellbeing - and creates a stronger local economy.
A great place to live, grow up and grow older
'Good growth' is evident in the high-quality, sustainable homes developed in Feltham's varied neighbourhoods, all of which are well-connected into the existing fabric of Feltham. Homes are near to generous, landscaped public open spaces that residents of different ages can enjoy.
You can tell us what you think about this draft vision by completing the Feltham Masterplan Survey. We would suggest you read more of the material about the masterplan first by looking through the other project tiles on the Future Feltham hub.
