October 2024 Update:
•North area outside school entrance excavated, installation of 300mm permeable subbase, 100mm permeable tarmacadam. Construction of curve retaining feature wall C35 fibre reinforced concrete. Completed by required deadline of school returning after summer break.
•North and South steps complete, in a drying process, granite works to start early November.
• Work on both North and South Railings has begun. In the work phase it was discovered that the existing wall was of poor quality so both walls have been rebuilt. The new railings are being fabricated on site and will match the existing railings on the war memorial section.
The Friends of Feltham Green have requested that the bike racks are repositioned to enhance the railings and use of the site.
Feltham Green Open Space improvement works will start in spring 2024 and expect to be completed in autumn 2024.
The construction works will form the first phase of improvements at Feltham Green and include:
Eco-cabin
Freddie Mercury Memorial Garden
Improved entrance to the north of the park and granite steps
During construction, some sections of the open space will be closed to the public. The Council will focus on ensuring minimal disruption though the summer so residents can still enjoy the pond and remaining green spaces.
