Green homes grant
Hounslow Council has joined 13 London councils to implement smart energy efficiency retrofits on fuel-poor homes as part of the Council’s ambition to make Hounslow a net zero carbon borough.
The Green Homes Grant: Local Authority Delivery (GHG:LAD) is open to Hounslow residents who are homeowners or live in social rented homes (and have low energy ratings and low incomes). Residents may qualify for up to £10,000 of grant funding, which covers the cost of energy saving upgrades such as improved low carbon heating, insulation, and smart controls.
Community energy fund
The Hounslow Community Energy Fund (HCEF) (round 2) uses Developer Carbon Offset Fund contribution to give community groups the agency to decarbonise their own spaces and lower their energy bills. Five new projects were funded last year for a total of over £130,000. A total of 11 projects have been supported and approximately £350k funding disbursed over the two rounds. Round 3 of the HCEF is currently open, with applications closing on 2nd March 2025. Find out more here.
Cost of living support
Better Homes, Better Health provides a free package of support to help eligible Hounslow residents improve their homes, keep warm and save money on energy bills.
